How the Clinician Connection started from a passion for mentoring

A Passion for Mentoring

Born from a passion for mentoring, developing, and supporting emerging social workers, The Clinician Connection was founded in 2022 as a collaboration between two women experts in the field of behavioral health with the aim to provide clinical supervision, training, and education to emerging and established clinical social workers in Texas and California.

They’ve spent their careers working with the underserved with serious and persistent mental illnesses. One providing clinical services, direct practice, supervision, and as head of service for multiple programs. The other is on the administration side, working in clinical trial operations, finance, billing, and coding in community-based programs.

With 50 years of combined experience in the field of behavioral health, they joined their efforts to provide best-practice clinical supervision, training, education, and consultation services.

Clinical Excellence

Lisa Albert is our CEO of Clinical and is a board-approved, LCSW and supervisor. She is licensed to practice and provide clinical supervision in California and Texas.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Science and earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California. She is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration degree and has over 25 years of experience in the field of social work, including providing direct practice, supervision, and as the head of service for multiple programs.

Primarily, her work has been in the public sector, working with the underserved with serious and persistent mental illnesses. She also has experience with direct practice and supervision in all stages of life. Lisa’s areas of concentration have been trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, behavioral disorders, ADHD, and Human Trafficking.

She is published in the area of adverse childhood experiences (ACES) and has presented extensively on the topic.

Operational Excellence

Our CEO of Operations has over 25 years of experience in behavioral health and clinical trials operations, billing, finance, and coding. She primarily worked in and with community-based programs that provided services for the unserved and underserved, who had serious and persistent mental illnesses.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, a Master of Business Administration degree, and is a Certified Billing and Coding Specialist.

Her philosophy of support is driven by her love for operational efficiency. Implementing and maintaining a streamlined and structured business environment allows the students and clinical teams to perform at their highest level.
