Supervision toward licensure or specialty recognition must extend over a full 3000 hours over a period of not less than 24 full months and a period of not more than 48 full months for LCSW or not more than 60 full months for Independent Practice Recognition (IPR).
Even if the individual completes the minimum of 3000 hours of supervised experience and a minimum of 100 hours of supervision prior to 24 months from the start date of supervision, supervision that meets the Council’s minimum requirements shall extend to a minimum of 24 full months.

Each supervisor is credentialed prior to joining The Clinician Connection team. Additionally, they sign a legal attestation form to verify they meet the requirement to supervise in the state and that the information they provided was true and accurate. We also thoroughly evaluate the supervisor’s experience, philosophical approach, and areas of expertise to create a compatible fit.

Immediately following the initial consultation and confirmation of supervisory fit occur, the first supervisory session can be scheduled.
We do track the supervision hours of each supervisee; however, it is the responsibility of each supervisee to track their own supervision hours and ensure they match those logged by their supervisor.
Our supervisors are well-versed in the supervision documentation requirements of your state and license type.
California: It is the supervisee’s responsibility to ensure all hours and related documentation is recorded accurately and signed by the supervisor. The supervisee is also responsible for submitting all required documentation to the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Texas: The supervisee is responsible for ensuring all documentation is accurately recorded and signed. It is the supervisor’s responsibility to submit the completed supervision packet to the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners.
If you are a student who would like to utilize The Clinician Connection for supervision, you will be required to obtain permission from your graduate university and placement site. Once approval is received, we will conduct an introductory call with you and your prospective supervisor to confirm a supervisory fit.
The Clinician Connection’s virtual supervision is accessible from anywhere that you have internet access. You can join your sessions from your desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone through our virtual platform.
